If you are planning a trip to Thailand, you will most likely spend a few nights in Bangkok when you land. During my recent trip to this bustling city, I had the pleasure of staying at Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok. This modern and stylish hotel is located in one of the city’s quieter neighbourhoods. Known for its blend of home-like comfort and incredible amenities, Shama Yen-Akat offers a refreshing escape from the chaos of the capital, while still being close to everything. Here’s what I loved most about my stay.
Location:
Nestled in the tranquil Yen Akat neighbourhood, Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok offers a serene retreat just a 10-minute drive from the Central Business Districts of Silom and Sathorn. Its prime location ensures guests are close to the city’s vibrant energy while enjoying a peaceful atmosphere. The renowned Lumphini Park, perfect for a morning jogs or stroll and is just 2.5 km away.
For shopping and dining, Market Place Nanglinchee is just 500 meters from the property, offering a variety of restaurants, cafes, and a grocery market. Central Plaza Rama 3, a major shopping mall, is approximately 3 km away, providing a wide range of retail outlets and entertainment options.
You can easily access the rest of Bangkok with Lumphini MRT Station and Chong Nonsi BTS Station so you can conveniently explore of the city. Additionally, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center and the vibrant Asiatique The Riverfront are within a 6 km radius, offering cultural experiences and riverside entertainment. Whether you’re in Bangkok for business or leisure, Shama Yen-Akat’s location is the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquillity.
The Rooms:
One of the highlights of my stay at Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok was undoubtedly the room itself. Spacious and thoughtfully designed, it offered more than enough room to relax and unwind after a day exploring the city. The modern interiors were spotless, with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and comfort. I particularly appreciated the private balcony, which provided a quiet space to enjoy a coffee in the morning.
The inclusion of a small kitchen area made the space feel more like a stylish serviced apartment than a typical hotel room, ideal for longer stays and if you enjoy the option to cook in. The bathroom was equally impressive; very spacious, with a large walk-in shower and high-quality toiletries. Plush robes, slippers, and thoughtful amenities added an extra touch of indulgence, enhancing the overall sense of luxury.
Shama Yen-Akat offers a range of accommodation types, from Studio Suites to spacious Two-Bedroom Apartments, catering to solo travellers, couples, and families alike. Nightly rates generally range from approximately THB 2,500 to THB 5,500, depending on the room type and season, offering excellent value for such well-appointed, centrally located accommodation. Facilities:
Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok offers a comprehensive range of facilities designed to enhance the comfort and convenience of its guests. The 24-hour gym, located on the third floor, is well-equipped with cardio machines and free weights, catering to fitness enthusiasts at any time of the day. I like to stay active while I’m travelling so I was very impressed with this!
Adjacent to the gym is the outdoor pool which is open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM, providing a refreshing space to swim laps or relax on a lounger. I spent a day relaxing here and it was just ideal!
A standout feature is the rooftop garden, a pet-friendly area perfect for socialising and enjoying the city views. For business travellers, the boardroom on the lobby level accommodates up to 10 people, offering a modern space for meetings.
Understanding the needs of long-term guests and backpackers, the hotel provides complimentary self-service laundry facilities, ensuring convenience during extended stays.
Additional amenities include free Wi-Fi throughout the property, a 24-hour front desk, multilingual concierge services, and secure parking. The on-site restaurant, Brunch Paradiso, offers a modern setting with an array of delicious à la carte brunch dishes and beverages, adding to the hotel’s appeal.
The Food at Brunch Paradiso:
Brunch Paradiso, located on the lobby level of Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok, offers a chic and pet-friendly dining experience. Open daily from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM, it serves as the hotel’s breakfast venue and continues to delight guests with an extensive à la carte menu throughout the day.
The menu boasts a diverse selection of international dishes crafted from high-quality ingredients. Signature offerings include the Wagyu Beef Burger, Miso Salmon Kimchi & Avocado Bowl, and Berry & Banana Acai Bowl. For those seeking lighter fare, options like the Salmon Cous Cous Salad and Maple Toast with Truffle Mushroom Scrambled Eggs are available. I personally loved the Acai bowl and eggs benedict!
You can choose between indoor seating with a cosy ambiance or outdoor seating to enjoy the vibrant surroundings. The restaurant also offers takeaway coffee, perfect to take on the go. The staff are known for their friendliness and attentiveness, enhancing the overall dining experience. Every time I was there during my stay Su was incredible and so helpful!
Whether you’re starting your day with a hearty breakfast or indulging in a leisurely brunch, Brunch Paradiso provides a delightful culinary journey in the heart of Bangkok.
Sustainability:
Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok seamlessly integrates sustainability into its core operations, ensuring that eco-conscious practices enhance the guest experience. The hotel has been awarded the Green Hotel Standard, Silver Level by the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, reflecting its commitment to environmental responsibility. When I travel it is very important for me to stay in hotels that take conscious action on sustainability.
A notable initiative is the collaboration with Recycle Day, a platform that streamlines recycling efforts. Through this partnership, the hotel actively sorts and recycles waste, with progress tracked via the Recycle Day app. This approach not only improves waste management efficiency but also raises awareness about carbon footprint reduction among guests and staff.
Through these comprehensive sustainability efforts, Shama Yen-Akat Bangkok not only provides a luxurious stay but also fosters a positive impact on the environment and the community.

Whether you’re visiting Bangkok for a short city break or planning a longer stay, this hotel offers a sophisticated yet homely base with everything you could need at your fingertips. With its strong commitment to sustainability, generous in-room amenities, and one of the best all-day brunch spots in town, it’s the perfect place to stay in the city!
