If you are looking for a 4-star hotel to stay in Gran Canaria, Seaside Sandy Beach is perfect. Seaside Sandy Beach in Gran Canaria is a 4-star property with 256 bedrooms. The hotel is part of the German hotel group Seaside Collection. The hotel opened in 1986 and is beautifully maintained, offering the perfect location, rooms, and cuisine.
The Location:
The hotel is located in Playa del Inglés, the most popular tourist town on the island. The airport is 35 kilometres to the north-east. The approximate driving time is 30 minutes and a taxi cost approximately €40 – €45.
Seaside Sandy Beach is situated only 200 metres away from the spectacular and never-ending Playa del Inglés beach. The main shopping area and nightlife of Playa de Ingles is only a 5 minute walk away. The famous Sand Dunes (Dunas de Maspalomas) are just a few minutes’ drive or it is also possible to walk.
The capital of the island Las Palmas is only a 56km drive and I highly recommend a visit here. You can explore the Old Town as it has so much to offer. The location of the hotel is ideal whether you are looking for a poolside getaway or an adventurous trip to explore the second most populous Canary Island.
The Rooms:
There are 7 types of rooms available in Seaside Sandy Beach. If you are travelling with a family, you have the option of a Family Room If you are a couple or with friends you can choose from Twin, Superior or Deluxe Room. If you want to save some money on your trip you can take advantage of the half-board to be included in your room price.
The rooms are clean, spacious, and each has a balcony with a view over the poolside area. This was my favourite part as we could sit out and relax in the morning or evening. There are also tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. I was particularly impressed with the storage options as the room had a wardrobe and dressing area.
The Pool:
One of the best thing about Seaside Sandy Beach is the pool! It is a large and impressive pool that is heated all year round. It is also located beside the beach so you can decide between a pool or beach day depending on your mood.
There are many comfortable sun chairs along the pool and to the side for sunbathing. You can rent a towel from the lifeguard by exchanging a token you receive at reception. When you return the towel at the end of the day you will get the token back.
The Food:
The food at Seaside Sandy Beach hotel is incredible and you have everything at your doorstep. The pool has a bar with affordable drinks and snacks for your pool day. You can choose from breakfast included, half-board or all-inclusive for your stay.
Timings for food service are below:
- Breakfast: 08:00 – 10:30 hrs.
- Lunch: 13:00 – 15:00 hrs.
- Cake and pastries: 15:00 – 16:30 hrs. (included with all-inclusive)
- Dinner summer: 18:30 – 22:15 hrs.
- Dinner winter: 18:00 – 21:15 hrs.
The breakfast was my favourite part of the stay. There were so many options from various pastries, to oatmeal, to abundance of fruit, to an omelette station. The dinner also had a wide variety of choice for everyone with vegetarian and vegan options. You can enjoy a bit of everything with the buffet style; pizza, chicken curry, pasta and more.
There are two options for dining, you can sit outdoors beside the pool or you can sit indoors. The indoor seating was one of the prettiest dining rooms I have every seen! The interior is pink and gold with a girly and chic style. We took many photos in here needless to say!
The Staff:
Everyone at Seaside Sandy Beach was so friendly, helpful and hospitable. The staff speak English, Spanish, French and German. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect, and the reception is 24/7 to accommodate guests.
The staff at the hotel were fantastic during my stay and made me enjoy my time in Gran Canaria even more by offering advice on activities and how to travel by car on the island. Without a doubt the staff at Seaside Sandy Beach had a very positive impact on my stay.
Ammenties:
As well as all this, the hotel has incredible amenities such as tennis courts, kids club and games room with darts and other activities. You can book a session tennis instructor. Rackets and balls are available to hire from reception, so you don’t even need to pack your own kit. There is also a golf course about 3 km from the hotel.
There are also two gyms: one for cardio only with treadmills and rowing machine on the 6th floor. The second gym is weights and cardio on the first floor. I was so impressed with this gym as it has way more machines than most hotel gyms. There are leg-press, lateral pull down machines and even a squat rack! This is ideal if you want to stay fit on holiday
For health and wellbeing there are many options such as a spa and private terrace which you can book for a few hours. There are two private terraces with hot tubs, five sun loungers and views across the Atlantic that take pride of place on the 10th and 11th floors. This has an additional cost of €60 and the price includes a bottle of sparkling wine and fresh fruit. In the reception area there is a hair salon too where you can book an appointment upon arrival.
Conclusion:
Overall, I was very impressed with my stay at Seaside Sandy Beach. Everything from the location, amenities and staff were incredible.
